The Digital Photo Guy

HDR Tips and Techniques by Rob Sheppard

Learn HDR Tips and Techniques in Three Hours

Rob Sheppard, editor-at-large of Outdoor Photographer magazine, National Geographic contributer and HDR maven, will present a 3-hour webinar demonstrating his favorite HDR tools, tips and techniques.

To see an example of Rob’s HDR style, see page 3 of this article. Rob will start with the basics and cover the tools he personally likes and uses as well as others he’s tried that didn’t make the cut. Along the way, he’ll give you tips and techniques to improve your HDR results. The current trend in HDR is toward more realistic images that accurately reflect what our eyes see and Rob’s style perfectly matches that trend. Rob will wrap up the webinar with a “Compare & Contrast” session covering several leading HDR tools to help you select what’s best for your needs and budget.

Disclaimer: I’ve taken classes with Rob. I like his “tools is tools” approach to photography. He’s not a Canon or Nikon or Pentax fanboi, he uses the tools that make sense for the current situation. Here are some photos (near the bottom) I made in the Eastern Sierras during a workshop led by Rob.
