Photoshoot - Digital SLR for New dSLR Owners - $149.95
Join The Digital Photo Guy for a 3-session, hands-on Workshop in Escondido, CA. This Workshop is for new dSLR owners who want to get up-to-speed quickly without a lot of theory or classroom lectures. Each Workshop is limited to 4 students to ensure each person gets all the attention and assistance he or she needs.

Starting with a 2-hour Webcast overview, each student learns the basics from the comfort of his or her home PC. A high speed Internet connection is desirable but not required. Next, we move to an outdoor photoshoot at a local venue where assignments are given out on five different subjects. Students select any three assignments and capture photos using tools and tips learned in the class. The instructor is available throughout the 3-hour shoot.

After the shoot, each student selects the best image from each category and e-mails it to the instructor. The images are displayed during a final Webcast session where the instructor gives comments and critiques. Students love Webcast critique because it let's them avoid standing in front of others while showing their work.

Advanced - Digital SLR for New dSLR Owners - $129.00
A complete 3 hour Webcast (2 sessions of 90 minutes each) for new dSLR owners who want to maximize the full potential of their camera. This Webcast is aimed at people who have either just moved to a dSLR or those new to photography in general and dSLRs in specific.

In 3 hours we'll cover 3 major topics:
1. dSLR technology in general - How is a dSLR different from a consumer digicam and why is this important to you. We'll cover sensor types and sizes as well as a discussion of "focal length multiplier" effect, 3rd party batteries and image stabilization issues (IS/VR/OS/AS, etc).

2. Basic controls - Setup and operation of a dSLR including Operating Modes (PASM, Preset, Auto), ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance, Auto-Focus Concepts and Metering Modes. We'll also touch on topics like Burst Mode, EC (exposure compensation) and FEC (Flash Exposure Compensation).

3. Technique & composition - Here we discuss how the advantages of a dSLR can be maximized for aestheically pleasing photos. We will discuss topics such as depth of field, hyperfocal distance, focus & recompose, tripods vs monopods vs handholding.

Anyone who has invested $1000+ dollars on a dSLR will find this is the best investment for getting the most out of their camera.
