Why You Need RSS and How to Get It:

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) won’t help you lose weight, get rich or increase sex appeal but it will make you smarter and more efficient. If the Wikipedia article made your eyes glaze over, not to worry. Just as you don’t need to be an automotive engineer to drive your car to the grocery store, you don’t need to be a geek nerd to put RSS to work for you.

Think of RSS as your own personal newspaper, filled with just the news you want. Even better, the news is delivered as soon as it’s posted, so you never miss a thing. If you’re busy, don’t bother reading it, it’ll still be there when you get around to it later.

To set up your own RSS feed, read the following two articles. The first article shows you step-by-step, how to set up an RSS feed using Google or Yahoo! since most people already have an e-mail account with one or the other.

The second article shows you how to do all this “automagically”. It also shows how to automatically receive e-mail or text notifications so you don’t have to check your G-mail or Yahoo! accounts.

Best of all, once you set up your RSS feed, you can subscribe to any site that offers RSS feeds. Let’s suppose you follow your local newspaper, a macrame site, NASCAR and Instead of logging into each site to see what’s new, you can simply wait for an e-mail telling you that a site has been updated with new information.
